Ingredients

  • 2 garlic clove chopped 
  • 2 teaspoon sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes 
  • ¼ quarter fresh lime 
  • 2 Tablespoons fish sauce 
  • 4 Tablespoons or more of water 

Instructions

  1. Put chopped garlic, sugar, and pepper flakes in a mortar and grind with a pestle until it becomes a paste.
  2. Squeeze lime juice over paste, scraping the pulp from lime into mixture as well.
  3. Mix well and pour into a bowl or jar.
  4. Add fish sauce and water and stir until well blended.
  5. Taste and if it is too salty, add more water, about 1 Tablespoon at a time until it is tasty.
