Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 T flour
  • 1 box strawberry Jello (small box)
  • ½ cup water
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 bag frozen strawberries, thawed.

Straberry Frosting

  • ½ box powdered sugar
  • ½ stick oleo or butter
  • Thawed strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F.
  2. Grease and flour a 9x13 cake pan.
  3. Combine cake mix, jello mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil and mix well. A mixer is ideal for this, the batter is very sticky.
  4. Add 1 cup of thawed strawberries and mix to combine.
  5. Pour cake batter in pan.
  6. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 °F.

Strawberry Frosting

  1. Cream together butter and powdered sugar.
  2. Add strawberries like you would milk in a traditional buttercream icing to get to the desired consistency. Don’t get too much juice, focus on whole strawberry pieces, or it will get watery way too fast and won’t have much strawberry flavor.
  3. Frost cake when it has cooled.
