Ingredients
- 1 c Crisco
- 2 c sugar
- 3 eggs
- 4 c flour
- 4 t baking powder
- ½ t salt
- 3 T milk
- 2 t vanilla
Instructions
- Cream Crisco and sugar.
- Add well-beaten eggs.
- Sift the baking powder, flour, salt.
- Add some of the dry ingredients to the mixture.
- Alternate dry with milk and vanilla.
- Add more flour if dough is too thin or sticky to roll nicely.
- Typically, put dough if fridge overnight.
- Remove from fridge and let warm before attempting to roll out.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Roll out dough on a pastry matt or counter, lightly floured, until approximately ¼in thick.
- Cut shapes as desired, place on backing sheet.
- Bake at 350 °F for 10 – 15 minutes, remove when edges start to brown.
- Allow to cool completely on racks before icing.
